Hi Audrey, I am so sorry you are suffering this pain especially as you are on enebral & exspecting to feel much better. it does sound as though you have had some improvement which its good to be positive about. i have had Ra for 7 yrs & had all your symptoms, so I am pretty sure your symptoms are down to RA. I know this doesn,t help much when you want to get on with life,I think you will find that your fingers will stretch out again & your ankle will improve. So dont, worry these symptoms are not prmanent. I should ring the help line, perhaps you can have a hydrocortizone jab to give you some relief while you waite for the enebral to kick in. Every thing to do with Ra is abit slow & takes a lot of adjustment. However you are on a brilliant drug so hang in there & hope you will feel a bit better soon. I use 2 sticks when my ankle feels insecure ,so can carry on getting about a bit. I hope this is helpful take care Rosexx Thinking about you.

Hi Audrey,

If it's any consolation, I think the ankle pain is very much part and parcel of RA. I also get that awful pain in the feet and ankles especially when my drugs are starting to wear off and it can certainly make walking very difficult. Keep off your feet as much as you can (not easy I know!)

As for your hands, I think that whenever fingers and hands start to show signs of deformity of any kind, a trip to the OT is essential. With the use of the correct splints and/or exercises, certain changes in the hands can be minimised.

I am so glad, though, that there is some early sign of improvement!
